11.02.2008 -17 °C
Today we went on a self-tour of some of the best listed attractions to hit in Seoul. We first visited the Namdaemun Gate in downtown Seoul.(1)It is a historical gate that dates back to 1395 (2), and is the original southern gate of the surrounding gates of Seoul. That is how is was given it's name, because Namdaemun literally means "the great southern gate".
After that we made our way over to Deoksugung Palace. It is located at the busiest intersection in downtown Seoul(1), and if famous for it's elegant stone-wall road. Entrance to the palace is 1000 won and it is closed every Monday(2).
After our bustling self-tour around the city, we were excited to get to come good Korean cooking, so we stopped off at a local restaurant had we ordered, "Bibimpap", which is essentially boiled rice with mixed vegetables and "Haemultang", which is a seafood stew. SOOO DELICIOUS!
Below we listed a few other places we would have loved to see, but didn't have the time... . If you have the chance, theses are a few other attractions that were recommended that we see!!
