Day 15 - 17 Flying to Jeju Island

Travelling to Jeju island

sunny 8 °C

We needed to get Gimhae airport, located in Busan, to fly to Jeju airport in Jeju island. We decided to take a bus to get Busan bus terminal from Gyeongju-si and we took a taxi at Busan bus terminal to Gimhae airport. It took about 1 hour and 30minutes to get Gimhae airport. We made a flight booking by Korean airline web site. The fare was about 56900 Korean won per person which is around 56 dollars in Canadain dollar. It was not expensive. HOW COOL IT IS :). Out filght journey time to Jeju-do was 1hours and 5minutes.When We arrived at Jeju airport, we were suprised at diffrence from Seoul. Jeju-do is mostly like a foriegn country. We got good frist impression from Jeju island which was warm and beautiful island.

Jeju-do is the premire tourist attraction in Korea. There are scenic beaches, waterfalls, cliffs and cave lie in harmony, and the mild weather makes Jeju island an even more ideal tourist destination. Mt.Hallasan in Jeju island has flora and fauna of both temperate and tropical varieties, coexing on the mountain. So we planed to go Mt. Hallasan National Park and Jungmun Daepo Coast Jusanjeolli Cliff.

First all day in Jeju Island, we went to Mt.Hallasan National Park. 1)Mt Hallasan is a massive shield volcano which forms the bulk of Jeju Island and is often taken as representing the island itself. It is also called Mt. Yeongjusan, meaning a mountain high enough to pull the galaxy. Mt. Hallasan is widely acknowledged by scholars for its research values. From its warm climate to the cold climate areas, Mt. hallasan is famuse its vertical ecosystem of plant. Also 2) there is a crater lake called Baengnokdam, literally "White deer lake" on the peak of Mt.Hallasan. It has a GREAT GREAT GREAT scenery and beautiful.

On next day, we went to see Jungmun Daepo Coast Jusanjuolli Cliiff. We know it is hard to read Korean. However, it was really BEAUTIFUL tourist site in Jeju Island. The Jusangjeolli are 1)stone pillars piled up along the coast and is 2)a designated cultural mounment of Jeju Island. The Jusangjeolli was formed when the lava from Mt. Hallasan flew to the sea of Jungmun. We were so impressed with the landscapes of Jusangjeolli cliff. IT WAS REALLY BEAUTIFUL SITE!!!
