DAY 5 - Seoul - Subway Exploration

Relaxing and Settling in Seoul

Over the last few days we have been spending a lot of time around our hotel, and generally just getting a feel for local Seoul. We've been eating out at a lot of local places, and have had some "interesting" food...
We had the chance to experience some Soju, a local Korean liquor. It is pretty comparable to vodka, but a little less potent. It is also the most popular liquor for the Korean public.

We spent yesterday exploring Seoul's vast subway system, which is massive, and extremely efficient. We added a picture of the subways main routes below, so that you could get an idea of how extensive their system is.

Below we listed the website for the Subway System is Seoul, which we found super helpful.

We are currently staying at the Sofitel Ambassador hotel in downtown Seoul, so it is a good location for us to explore the city. It is very close to the Dongdaemun Market, which we plan to visit and do some great shopping!.

We plan to do a "temple stay" for our last few days in Seoul, before we head over to Geyongju. A temple stay is a local authentic type of accommodation that we are looking forward to experiencing!
